The October 6 harvest full moon is a supermoon that shines 30% brighter than usual. This auspicious full moon peaks at 8:47 pm PT and brings a powerful blessing with it.
Called Sharad Purnima, this is the full moon when Goddess Lakshmi showers the earth with a blessed light, and enlivens the kalas of love, compassion, courage, creativity, and joy.
To receive the blessings of wealth and happiness on this full moon, step outside and take a moment to soak in the moonlight. This is the perfect night to create “moon water”—place a glass of water (or use sweetened dairy, oat, or almond milk) beneath the moonlight for a few hours. The Sharad Purnima is also the night of the magical rasa-lila, an ecstatic dance of the gopis with Lord Krishna that lasted for an eternity.
