Time to step it up. The full moon of March 20, 2019 (6:43 pm PT) illuminates a path to greater happiness, hope, and the fulfillment of your dreams.  This rare and powerful supermoon (larger and brighter than normal) falls just 4 hours after the equinox.

The equinox is when day and night are equal in length and the forces of light and darkness fall into perfect balance.  It’s said that the mind and heart can receive subtle messages from spirit now, as the earth crosses a tipping point between the stillness of death and the awakening of new life.

In the northern hemisphere, March 20 is the Vernal Equinox, the first day of Spring, when life escapes from winter’s icy grip, and new seeds begin to sprout.  Packed with life-celebrating and fertile energy, this is a full moon that sparks creativity and inspires deeper and more meaningful connections with others.

In Vedic astrology, the full moon falls in the area of the sky known as Uttara Phalguni, the star of spiritual love, commitment, and unity.  Symbolized by the marriage bed, this nakshatra is also revered as the nuptial star of Shiva and Shakti.

In India the spring equinox full moon is always celebrated as the colorful and spirited full moon of Holi, a festival known for its colorful powders and paints.  The colors of Holi represent the flowers of spring and the vitality of life’s renewal.

But take heed, there’s tension in the air.  Many planets are on the verge of changing signs and a lot hangs in the balance of uncertainty now. Both Venus and Mars will change signs immediately following the full moon.

Love focused Venus will enter open-minded Aquarius on March 21, magnifying progressive and heart opening friendships,  while revealing new ways to express creativity and love. Goal-orientated Mars will leave fiery Aries on March 22 for the slow and careful terrain of sidereal Taurus.  Though momentum may seem slower, future plans can be put into solid and realistic action soon.

Idealistic Jupiter is hovering on the volatile cusp degree called mula gandanta, this is the karmic knot, where a powerful destructive force resides.  Guru Jupiter unravels here, exposing unrealistic beliefs, scandals, false gurus, and ultimately shifting awareness toward dharma.  Jupiter will linger here until the end of April.  This is a powerful time to clear away toxic relationships, unneeded cultural and familial patterns, and disempowering beliefs.

Finally, MercuryRetrograde will turn direct on March 28,  a welcome relief for those who have been entangled in confusing decisions, delays, miscommunications, and quite possibly, frustrating tax forms this mercury retrograde.

The Uttara Phalguni supermoon is at a rare tipping point and an excellent catalyst for improved clarity and inner resolve.  What makes you feel truly alive and connected to the world? How can you call in a sense of higher love and commitment into your life?
